My dear brother Pete and my brethren,

I was so tired and discouraged but not hopeless!

The VBS for one week was very successful. All of us went home with the blessing of the Lord, the young people are praying that we can have more VBS in the future.

April 29, After our morning service here in Lagro, my family and I went to attend afternoon service in Pampanga. Our brethren thereat were so happy to have us and we have good fellowship in His name!

While on our way back to Manila at about 9:00PM, my daughter May was suffering of severe stomach pain. I drive fast but sure in going home and I thank God for His care and mercy. I brought my family at home and immediately rush my daughter in the hospital. She was under observation and hopefully she will be okay. Please remember her in your prayer. This is the reason that my report on VBS activities was delayed.

The VBS was so excited and there are 154 attendance. We have 15 visitors from Chatolics, 7 from Wesleyan, one Pentecostal and one Iglesia ni Cristo (don't believed that Christ was God). We have a good study and we appreciated the question and comments of the participants. I focus my teaching in the book of Proverbs and I back up principles from different books and chapter of the scripture. We make a special season for our visitors sake and my Dad (Hilario Wanasen) discusses salvation and the church.
Here are the topics that I discuss on my teaching;
1. Dangers and benefits of friendship, which includes evil, companion,
good companion and ways of maintaining godly companions
2. Wealth and its empty promises which includes gain dishonestly, destructiveness of the love of money and surpassing value of contentment
3. Family/Home relationship which includes parents/child relationship
4. The Fool and Scoffer which includes, hating correction, wicked ways of the fool, the end result of the scoffer and positive cheerful attitudes.

There are some preachers came from different churches who help me namely; Bro Jinny Chris Sarceda, bro Jun Gavina, bro Filife Cariaga, bro Dannie De Vera, Bro Alejandro Catolos, Bro Enteng Valenzuela and bro Ron Cabante. Here are the subjects that they taught;
1. Citizen Conduct which includes moral values
2. Role of the youth in the church
3. Role of the youth in the community
4. Proper behavior on dating, courtship and choosing mate.

The whole week is very fruitful, we have the acquaintance in the first day, then devotion on the first night. We have some games after their class at 5:00PM, Basketball for boys and Volleyball for girls. Our last day was very emotional; I can see the joy in their heart and their tear flows when they say goodbye to each other. It is really a refreshing of soul! Thank you Lord.

I commend also our sisters in Christ who were not tired in cooking and preparing for the foods headed by my mother Carmelita Wanasen, Marina Agaton, Gloria Dumaguing, Deling Echavaria, Reggie Galang and Tess Wanasen. Sister Catolos and Sister Esguerra helped also some works in the kitchen.

Our brethren in Christ at Resurreccion were very supportive especially my parents. There are some shortages of fund for foods and the electric bill raised but my parents were still happy for the burden that they have. I promised them to help when my support will arrive. The Resurreccion church build two additional "comfort room", one for boys and girls. Some of them donated Mangoes and Vegetables. God really provides!

We Distributed bibles (Tagalog) to every participants and they were glad for having their own bibles especially that young people can't afford to buy (1 bible = 1 day wage). We distributed also T-shirt coming from a good brother and we gave them also free notebooks and pen. To all my brethren who have big heart in supporting this kind of activities, I thank you very much. May the Lord of Host will increase your faith and accounts in His name.

We have some sickness but medicines were available and they were cured b and our foods in the refrigerator are getting spoiled. No more water service in our area, we are buying water for our drink and cooking. Situation here in Manila is getting worse. Please pray for us.

Till here my brethren and thank you for your prayer, love, concern and support to us esp to the works here in the Philippines.

In His name I remain,
Roman Roger Wanasen
