A few of you may have noticed that the message board was down for a little while again tonight. While my ISP was having some speed problem tonight, it wasn't their fault, I felt it was time to give the message board another little face lift. If all goes as it should, as soon as I post this message the message board should move to a more manageable size. There are two big changes, and maybe a few small ones, I don't know about them though.

1. The Living Waters Message Board is now accesable through http://livwat.fryzland.com/ as well as http://www.fryzland.com/livwat/ but it will now start trying to force you to use livwat.fryzland.com instead of fryzland.com/livwat as it has been doing. This will be a little annoying as all the messages you've read will no longer appear as read, but in the long haul this will be better, and I've been meaning to do it for a couple months now. All aspects of the board should be working perfectly no matter which link you use to get here.

2. By far the bigger, harder, and longer upgrade was an archiving system. Not only did this require more work than I figured it would, but also had a steeper learning curve than I at first thought. Anyway, it should now be working up to spec. If you prefer the old format you can use index1.html as your link ( http://livwat.fryzland.com/index1.html ) The index1.html page should still be exactly as this page has been up until now. the index.html page, index2.html, and subsequent numbers are all the new format. The new format should be about 23 threads per page. A thread being the entire string of message, so a page can be real short if none of the messages have replies to them.

The extra overhead these processes use might add a little bit when you post a message, but loading pages should definately be faster.

Any question or comments can be sent to me (livwat@fryzland.com)

Now let's see if this works...
