"Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor's life" Posted by Glen - May 29, 2001 at 9:02:34am 1280x1024x32 - Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows 98) |

I've been looking at this phrase lately, it's from Leviticus 19:16. It appears that most english versions translated this phrase the safest way, and missed part of the meaning. It really seems to mean that you will not stand by while harm comes to your brother, that you have a responsibility to try to stop it. This is interpretation seems to be consistent with other places in Moses law where action is required when one sees something wrong, such as Exodus 23:4. Any other ideas on this?
