Joseph is a good example of the forgiveness; I recently came across a current one. A friend of my wife's mentioned to Betty that her former brother-in-law is about to be released from prison -- for the murder of his wife, her sister. This woman sees this as an opportunity to reach out to him, and is worried that the rest of her family will not accept him, want him around, or have anything to do with him. Even though he has never asked her to, she has forgiven him. She says that her sister is gone, there is nothing that can be done for her, but they have a chance to lead this man to Jesus. I know this is the attitude God wants but I'm amazed she can do it. I also know that no matter how complete her forgiveness, and how much she reaches out to him, she will never forget what he did.
