I came across it while reviewing other articles on the same site regarding an upcoming revision of the NIV. I use the NIV more than any other version, and value it highly, but also see many defects in it, many of which are touched on by the author of the linked article. The problem I have is recommending a "better" translation than the NIV. I really agree with the author of the linked article, that we currently have void that needs to be filled. Consider the thoughts, and consider praying for a better translation to meet the needs of the English speaking church and evangelism in the 21st century. |
