Perhaps through some error on my part a paragraph seems to have dropped out when I posted the reply to Mike, toward the end. There was a comment preceding the verses about elders (bishops) and deacons, that Bibically these leadership and service roles in the churches are limited to men with particular qualifications. Since teaching and holding fast the true faith are part of the job descriptions of these men, it has relevance to the question.
