Re: caf: if you think the world you live in has turned to the The creator you are most deceived!

Indeed, I am a God worshipping Christian, and a Bible believing Christian at that. The prophets did not say the world will turn to the Creator. Neither through John (the Elijah who was to come) nor through anyone else. On the contrary,

1 John 2:15-17
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For everything in the world-the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. (NIV)

And again,

1 John 4:4-6
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. (NIV)

It would be wonderful to live in a world that truly acknowledged its creator, but that has not happened, and will not happen in this world.

However, the father of John the Baptizer was told:
Luke 1:14-17
14 He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, 15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth. 16 Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God. 17 And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous-to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." (NIV)

John did what God had promised, and "many of the people of Israel" were led to repentance and there were fathers and children and disobedient people who turned to the Lord, as the prophets had said.
