Indeed, I am a God worshipping Christian, and a Bible believing Christian at that. The prophets did not say the world will turn to the Creator. Neither through John (the Elijah who was to come) nor through anyone else. On the contrary, 1 John 2:15-17 And again, 1 John 4:4-6 It would be wonderful to live in a world that truly acknowledged its creator, but that has not happened, and will not happen in this world. However, the father of John the Baptizer was told: John did what God had promised, and "many of the people of Israel" were led to repentance and there were fathers and children and disobedient people who turned to the Lord, as the prophets had said.
