Here I am again, You asked what may be the biggest hindrance to comfort or encourage one another. If no one knows my troubles or problems how can they comfort and encourage me? Maybe we don't share our problems sometimes because of pride? Lack of Love for one-another could be another hindrance. if you don't love someone you may not care whether they are helped (encouraged) or not. The scriptures you gave sound like we should be comforting one-another with the hope that has been set before us. My sentence earlier about negativity was brought to my mind glaringly this morning, just as we sat down in Bible class, and elderly "gentleman" griped for 5 minutes about the length of the sermon, etc etc. Not very edifying! I know the blood of Christ cleanses us from all unrighteousness but I would not like to behave in such a way today and meet my Lord tonight! Assuming church meetings are supposed to be a primary place for Christians to comfort or encourage one another, ... (see 1 Thess. 4:18, 5:11, Heb. 3:13)
1. What do you think may be the biggest hindrance to doing so effectively in church gatherings?
2. What do we need more of and less of in church assemblies to meet the goals of comfort and encouragement?
