The idea of people cloning themselves to carry on their life work or take over the fortune is pointless since they would need to transfer there own spirit, mind, and soul, to the new body. With the ability to switch bodies there is no garuntee the clone would in any be like the original in anything but looks wich are themselves effected by enviroment(diet, activity, climate). It would in fact be the same as having a child to inherit and carry on the work so it is no great advantage as it is just as full of doubt as leaving the future up to the children.

The idea of cloning great people is also of little use. Those people were a prodcut of their time and society. They would not encounter the same society or difficulties that caused them to rise to greatness. A clone of Abraham Lincoln is just as likely to be a great statesman as a drugged out street walker.

When it comse to cloning Jesus there are several points to consider:

1. Jesus was not the product of normal human interaction
Luke 1:34-35 "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a
vergin?" The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the
power of the most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be
born will be called the Son of God."
In order for Jesus to be the Son of God it took a special intervention on God's part. With out that all you have is a DNA match up of Mary and here ancestry.

2. God made it plain that just because a person was born from a certain
family it did not make them any more special in God's eyes.
Luke 3:8b "do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our
father.' For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up
children for Abraham."To God the DNA part of our beings is simple and only a small part of who we are. If there was DNA of Jesus the most that could be accomplished with it would be to produce a decendant of Mary and her ancestors. That decendant would lack the important part of Jesus conception involving the Holy Spirit and would make the end result just another being.

Accepting or rejecting the previous to points there is also this to consider, where would there be any trace of Jesus Christ's DNA? His body is no longer on this planet and the famous catholic relics claiming to have his blood upon them have been proven to be fakes. Because of his scant belongs and constant travel it is beyond belief that anything physical remains from his walk here on earth, that would have a trace of his DNA.
