Exod 20:5-6
"You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
(NAS)

Gen 3:14-15
And the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, cursed are you more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; On your belly shall you go, and dust shall you eat all the days of your life; And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel."
(NAS)

Prefaces are overrated and yet so many people love them, expecially authors. Ever notice that God didn't include a preface in the Bible?

To a certain extent, yes they had to do with the conversation last night, now I wasn't in the class, so I can't comment on that.

Basically as far as responsibility goes, each person is responsible for himself. But is there more to it?

Ezek 3:18
18 "When I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die'; and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.
(NAS)

God requires us to look after ourselves, but also each other. How our life begins is not up to us. If it were up to each child to choose where to be born, there are some people who would never have children.

The reference to the story of the blind man is just to show that what we see as a punishment isn't necessarily so. In some cases it can lead to a greater understanding than we could normally have.

Matt 9:13
13 "But go and learn what {this} means, 'I desire compassion, and not sacrifice,' for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
(NAS)

Who would more appreciate what Jesus did? The righteous or the sinners?
