We had a discussion class at services recently that brought up a difference of opinion. We are a very close group so the difference of opinion did not cause any negative feelings. However, it is an interesting question. Did God and/or Christ ever show preference to any one, either a person or a group of persons? So as not to sway any of you that want to respond, I will not tell you how I answered this question. I will follow with my thoughts after a few have taken a shot at the question The answer to this question is not a matter of salvation, in my mind, but it does say a lot about ones personal view of God's dealing with mankind.
